Staycation 2017

This Spring Break, experience what life was like as a pioneer kid on the farm.  Enjoy a self guided tour of the property at your own pace while experiencing hand-on activities and demonstrations.  Activities include chicken feeding, tractor driven wagon rides, games of the past, plowing & planting, school house visit, milking the cow, clothes washing and dish washing.

Fun on the Farm: St. Patrick's Day on the Farm

Museum After Dark presents: Adult Easter Egg Hunt

March 31, 2017

Easter is right around the corner and we are preparing for our annual nighttime Adult Easter Egg Hunt! The last several years have been a huge success with larger crowds and more prizes. This year will be even bigger and better! Eager adults will show up with their flashlights and Easter baskets to experience the fierce competition of finding the 4000+ eggs hidden on the museum’s 4 acre complex.

Friday, March 31, 2017; Rain date: Friday, April 7

Doors open at 8:00 p.m. Hunt begins at 8:30 p.m.

21 & up. Wine and light refreshments will be served.

Victorian Eggstravaganza and Spring Festival

April 15, 2017

Grab your baskets! Plano’s biggest historic Easter Egg Hunt takes place Saturday April 15th at the Heritage Farmstead Museum. Children are invited to hunt for more than 5,000 eggs on the Museum’s Lawn and in the North Meadow. The Museum grounds will be sectioned off into age-appropriate areas so everyone, including toddlers, will have an opportunity to participate. Museum gates open at 10:00 a.m.

In addition to 4 egg hunts staggered by age from 10:30 to 12:00, there will be demonstrations allowing visitors to experience the springtime excitement involving our sheep. Shearing, wool skirting, carding, washing, dyeing, spinning and weaving will be showcased. Concessions, face painting, wagon rides, a children’s craft, house tours, exhibits and historical activities will be part of the fun until 2pm.

Children are encouraged to bring their own Easter baskets.

 

Gates open at 10:00am
