School Field Trips

The Heritage Farmstead Museum is pleased to offer education programs and guided tours for school field trips and programs, focusing on agricultural history during the period of 1891-1936.

Outreach Program

Bring the Heritage Farmstead Museum to your classroom! Touch & Learn Curiosity Crates are filled with real historic artifacts from 1891-1936. Your students can explore items, bringing history alive in your classroom. 

Child & Parent Programs

Little Farmer Fridays is an interactive program designed for preschoolers and their grown-ups.  Most appropriate for children ages 2 to 5 years old, our programs offer families the opportunity to hear a story, make a craft, meet our livestock, enjoy a wagon ride, and have fun on our 4.5-acre farm.

Summer Camps

Summer Camp at the Heritage Farmstead Museum is an unforgettable opportunity for children to get outside, explore nature and connect with history.

Open to students entering Kindergarten through 5th Grade, our week-long camps offer outdoor activities with a focus on history and farm life in the heart of Plano.

Junior Historian Program

The Junior Historians of Texas is a state-wide extracurricular program that provides students with a unique opportunity to explore Texas and local history, gain leadership skills and participate in an annual state-level contest a student historian.  

Our chapter, Chapter 448, of the Junior Historians Club of Texas is open to middle and high school students.

Scout Opportunities

Bring your Girl or Boy Scout group out to complete a self-guided visit to the museum and earn a Farm Fun Patch. A free, journal is available in the Visitor Center.
